Epson EMP 835 Summary ![]() Model: Epson EMP 835 Type : LCD Projector Resolution : 1024 x 768 (XGA) native resolution Brightness : 3000 ANSI Lumens / 2200 ANSI lumens (silent mode) Applications: Image viewing at group meetings, conferences, operating theatre display Typical Price: £2420 (checked on Froogle UK Nov 04) Replacement Bulb Price: £383 (Independent Products 0800 376 5590) The Epson EMP 835 is a high end projector especially suited for the larger group meeting. Initial setup took only a few minutes, with an excellent quick start guide included in the package. All necessary audiovisual cables were included in the box, as was a wireless card (more about this later). The projector is well constructed, with a solid feel, and a smart, business like look. The lens is well recessed in the front housing, providing excellent protection against accidental damage. The lens cap is attached by a strong cable, so it can't be lost - anyone that has ever taken a projector on the road will appreciate the value of this! The back panel offers enough choice of input for even the hardened professional to be satisfied: there are two computer (mini D-sub) RGB inputs, standard composite (RCA) video, S-Video, as well as component video inputs for those looking for the best quality. Output options include a mini D-sub and stereo audio via a standard jack. You would expect this of any high end projector, but the EMP 835 also has USB (A +B) inputs, network and wireless capabilities. Video quality (eg for showing endoscopy / arthroscopy recordings) is excellent with a bright, sharp image with dense blacks even in normal daylight conditions (the 3000 ANSI lumens is at the top of it's class). This is especially important in the bright conditions needed for theatre projection, or larger rooms / lecture theatres.
